Instructions for Use
- Remove the dressing from the packaging;
- If necessary, cut the dressing to an appropriate size, but in such a way that it completely covers the scar or keloid;
- Make sure the injured area is clean and dry;
- Remove the protective film from the LIFESIL silicone gel tape and apply it to the scar, with the adhesive part of the tape facing the skin;
- LIFESIL silicone gel tape can be used 24 hours a day, but the skin and dressing must be cleaned at least once a day, washed with mild soap and allowed to air dry naturally.
- Be careful, as drying the LIFESIL silicone gel tape with a towel or letting it come into contact with clothing reduces its adhesion capacity;
- Change the LIFESIL silicone gel tape every 20 days or when it loses its adhesion properties. In joints or areas of intense friction, this interval may be shorter;
- LIFESIL silicone gel tape must be used continuously, with the treatment period varying depending on the scar's needs and medical monitoring;
- Avoid using creams and ointments on the site where the LIFESIL silicone gel tape is applied, as these may interfere with the adhesion of the tape;
- LIFESIL silicone gel tape has excellent adhesion to the skin, however, in certain areas, such as joints, a hypoallergenic adhesive tape can be used to aid in fixation. Be careful not to fix the tape in such a way that the scar is too compressed, as this can cause irritation to the scar;
- LIFESIL silicone gel tape can be used under compression garments.
- When carrying out treatment to prevent the formation of hypertrophic scars, make sure that there are no scabs on the surgical wound.
