Cell-free DNA tubes are vacuum-sealed blood collection tubes, equipped with a formaldehyde-free preservative that immobilizes blood cells. This unique immobilization prevents the release of genomic DNA (gDNA) and reduces hemolysis.
This allows for the isolation of high-quality, cell-free DNA (cf DNA). These tubes have also demonstrated the ability to reduce the degradation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs)

White blood cell stabilization prevents the release of genomic DNA, and red blood cell stabilization reduces hemolysis. It does not cross-link or modify DNA.
Cell-free DNA is stabilized for 7–14 days at temperatures between 4 and 30°C.
